Description

This 10th-century Qur’anic folio contains verses 41–52 of Surah al-Mu’minun. The passage addresses the fate of earlier communities, human responsibility before God, and the unity of prophetic mission.
The text recounts the destruction of those who rejected the truth and affirms that every era received its own messenger. It concludes with the declaration: “Indeed, this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.” The page thus combines historical narrative with theological synthesis.
The manuscript is written in naskh script, a clear and balanced book hand. The rounded letterforms and structured system of vocalization ensure legibility. Small decorative rosettes mark verse divisions and organize the composition of the page.
Measurements of the folio reflects a compact manuscript format. The use of paper corresponds to established manuscript production practices of the 10th century, when naskh was gradually consolidating its position as the principal Qur’anic script.
Within the framework of the First Renaissance, this folio demonstrates the emerging standardization of Qur’anic manuscript design, uniting textual precision with restrained decorative structure.
