Description

These belt ornaments date back to the 12th – early 13th centuries. Found in the territory of Mawarannahr, they are unique examples of applied art of the Middle Ages. Belt decorations were used to join and hold clothing and reflected the culture of that time. Their were made in small and delicate shapes. Such decorations served as attributes that determined social status. These exhibits are a valuable source for studying medieval culture and crafts. Belts, produced in Mawarannahr 12th – early 13th centuries, were made of bronze. Bronze material ensures the strength and longevity of the ornaments.
