Description

This Bronze Amulet dates to the 12th century. Discovered in the territory of Mawarannahr, it is one of the unique examples of applied art of Central Asia of the Middle Ages. An amulet is a decorative protective device used to protect a person from the evil eye and harmful influences. Its small size and elegant decorations demonstrate the high skill of the craftsmen. Religious phrases or special patterns reflecting the culture and beliefs of the time were often carved on the amulet. The exhibit has great historical and cultural significance.
