Description

This model represents the architectural ensemble of the mausoleum of Imam Termiziy — one of the most prominent scholars of hadith and a native of Termez.
Imam Termiziy, who lived in the 9th century, is known as the author of “Sunan at-Termiziy,” a key collection within the canonical corpus of Sunni Islam. His major contribution lies in the systematic classification of hadiths according to their degree of authenticity.
The mausoleum complex developed over several centuries, which is reflected in its layered architectural composition. Such stratification is characteristic of sacred sites in Central Asia, where successive generations expanded and reinterpreted earlier structures.
Located near ancient Termez, at the crossroads of major trade and cultural routes, the site acquired both spiritual and intellectual significance. It functioned not only as a place of pilgrimage but also as a center connected with the development of Islamic law and theology.
This model demonstrates how the local heritage of Termez became integrated into the broader intellectual landscape of the Islamic world, where knowledge was preserved, systematized, and transmitted across generations.
