Description
This object is a miniature replica of the door of the Kaaba, one of the most recognizable symbols of the Islamic world.
The original door is located in Mecca and forms part of the Kaaba, the focal point of Muslim pilgrimage. It is made of gold and decorated with Qur’anic inscriptions.
This replica reproduces the essential features of the original: the symmetrical double-leaf structure, relief ornamentation, and epigraphic bands. In Islamic art, such elements convey not only decoration but also the idea of divine order.
The object was presented as a gift in 2022. Within the museum context, it functions as a visual mediator, allowing visitors to engage with a sacred object that is otherwise inaccessible.
For Central Asia, the Kaaba has long been a focal point of spiritual connection through pilgrimage routes linking the region with Mecca.
The exhibit reflects both religious symbolism and historical continuity.
