Description

This is a model of the Chashma-i Ayub Mausoleum in Bukhara, a monument where architecture and legend intersect.
Its name means “The Spring of Job.” According to tradition, the prophet Job struck the ground here during a drought, causing a spring of water to emerge. The site has since been regarded as sacred.
The structure was built over several centuries, from the 12th to the 16th century, resulting in a layered architectural composition. Unlike unified monuments, this building unfolds in stages, guiding visitors toward the inner spring.
A distinctive feature is its tall conical dome. While Bukhara is known for hemispherical domes, this form reflects Khorezmian architectural influence, illustrating the movement of craftsmen and ideas across the region.
The mausoleum embodies both spiritual meaning and the practical importance of water in an arid environment.
