This bronze coin was minted in Sogdiana, one of Central Asia’s ancient centers of trade and culture, during the 7th–8th centuries. Coins provide important historical information about local authority, religious beliefs, and economic transactions. Measuring 18 mm in diameter, this coin’s compact form, bronze composition, and minting style reflect the technical level and aesthetic taste of Sogdian numismatic art. It depicts a stylized portrait of a ruler, local tamgas, and fire altar symbols, expressing the ideological and political concepts of the time.
