Description
The Parthian coin was minted during the era of ancient Parthia, a state that existed from the 2nd-1st century. Parthian coins were primarily made of gold, silver, and copper, playing a vital role in the economy of the kingdom. The obverse usually depicts the ruler’s portrait or a warrior, along with inscriptions bearing the name of the issuing monarch. The reverse side often features religious symbols, animals, or ornamental motifs. These coins served not only as a means of payment but also as symbols of political authority and cultural heritage. As artifacts, they provide important information about the history, politics, and culture of ancient Parthia.
