Description

These ceramic fragments, discovered at Qalhaliqir, represent rare examples of Ancient Khorezm writing and date to the 4th–2nd centuries BCE. Inscribed on pottery surfaces used in the temple-observatory of Quyqirilgan Qal’a for economic activities, the texts provide important information about trade, accounting, and other administrative practices in Ancient Khorezm. They are crucial for studying the unique features of the Khorezm script, as well as the economic system and administrative organization of the time. Moreover, the inscriptions offer valuable evidence about literacy levels, writing techniques, and cultural development in ancient Khorezm society.
