Description
This Handled Jug dates to the Early Medieval period and is an example of a ceramic vessel widely used in the daily life of the population of the Fergana Valley. The handle on the side facilitated carrying the jug and pouring its contents. It was primarily intended for storing water, beverages, or other household liquids. Typically wheel-thrown, the jug has a rounded body, a relatively narrow neck, and a smooth surface. Some examples feature simple linear or wavy patterns. This object is considered an important archaeological find, reflecting the pottery traditions and domestic culture of the Fergana Valley during the Early Medieval period.
